Early to rise and an elegant example of God's beauty as a reward. We woke at 5am, catching an early
coach at 6am. The bus made its rounds to all the hotels in the circle and headed to the rock. Although we left the resort in complete darkness, the sun began to paint the horizon with a spectrum of colour too beautiful for words to describe and too complex for a camera to do it justice. Only the human eye could properly appreciate this site.
The dark green plants against the red land, what an amazing contrast as a backdrop to the sun painted rock of Uluru. And the rock itself made of hard sandstone with only countless years of water erosion even able to barely touch its form. There were trails of indentations starting at the top and ending at the base, telling of the years of rain it must have seen.
During the progression of the sunrise as the sun began to slowly reveal the landmark, it went from dark brown to bright
brick red to light orange when full illuminated. Our eyes only barely catch this transition as they adjust to the range of colours. Taking several pictures during the process helped to capture this spectrum.
And now the rest of the day to anticipate our sunset tour!

Uluru Day 1 28th August 2014
What an amazing idea that my mother-in-law had to have a holiday together in Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Central Australia, one of the most picturesque part of the outback (if not THE most). In the middle of the continent surrounded by beautiful red sand landscape covered in vibrant green vegetation. What a contrast from above, making it the prettiest and best plane rides I have ever taken.
The silence... the beautiful quiet, away from the noise of the city. I don't know how many times I said a silent prayer for this solitude and 'detox' of the senses. Checking into our apartment in the resort, my anticipation was almost too much to let me sleep if it were not for the peaceful surrounding. I glimpse the landmarks from far away and can only imagine how beautiful it will be on our sunrise tour tomorrow morning.

What is this blog about?
What is this blog about? Me. I am not a famous writer, I just want to share some of my journeys. I want to keep them in the same place. I hope to sometimes make people smile with my stories. If anyone finds something profound or fun, my job is done. Mostly, this is for me and my hubby.
